China Tea Tour 2007

It is with deep appreciation that we would like to thank the China Chamber of
Commerce for Import & Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce & Animal By-Products
for putting together the trip of a lifetime. The hospitality extended to the delegation
by this organization was as extensive as their name is long. The delegation was treated
as friends throughout the country and they were as impressed with the people they met as
much as the tea they sipped.
The delegation was made up of tea professionals, authors, and friends of the industry. Some of the delegates were experienced executives with decades of experience and others were just discovering the joys of tea. For all, the opportunity to travel to the birthplace of tea was all the incentive required to carve out the time and invest the money to be a part of this trip.
In addition to visiting tea estates and factories, there was an opportunity to catch a glimpse of the culture and to gain a tiny insight as to just how revered tea is in China.
For those who attended, we hope you enjoyed being a part of this trip as much as the staff of the Tea Association and STI did. For those who could not make this trip, we encourage everyone who is really serious about tea to visit a producing country. You will come away with a new appreciation for tea and a heightened awareness that your efforts to sell, promote and consume tea affect the lives of millions of people who depend on tea for its very existence.
A special thanks to Mr. Cai Jun, Secretary General of the China Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Huo Jianguo, President; Mr. Huang Hanquing, Chairman and to all the executives and staff at the many tea companies that we visited including:
China Tea Company, Anhui Tea Import & Export Co., Ltd., China Hunan Tea Co., Hunan Tea Co., Ltd., Shanghai Tiantan International Trading Co., Ltd., Zhejiang New Continent Intl. Trade Co., Ltd., Hunan Provincial Yiqingyuan Tea Industry Co., Ltd., and to our personal friend Max and his lovely Mother who together exemplified the friendly face of China!
